Jackson Hole is a year-round vacation destination. Whatever time of year you like to travel, events in Jackson Hole run rain, shine, or snow. Here’s a look at the best seasonal events in Jackson Hole.
Winter isn’t the only time for snow-bound thrills in Jackson Hole. Held in mid-March, the annual Snowmobile Hill Climb sees daring snowmobilers compete for the fastest time as they rev their way to the top of Snow King Mountain.
ElkFest is the world’s largest elk antler auction. All antlers sold at the auction are shed naturally and collected from the National Elk Refuge. Seventy-five percent of the proceeds go to the refuge, while the remaining 25 percent go to the Boy Scouts of America.
The Rendezvous Music Festival is a free two-day festival featuring the best country, folk, and Southern soul bands from across the country. The festival runs from Friday, April 4th to Saturday, April 5th, with stages in Teton Village and Jackson Hole Town Square.
This ten-day festival celebrates Jackson Hole’s Western heritage with rodeos, live music, parades, and more!
The longest-running shootout in America, the Jackson Hole Town Square Shootout has been thrilling visitors since 1957. Whether you’re cheering on the law or the outlaws, this event is fun for the whole family. The Jackson Hole Town Square Shootout is held Monday through Saturday at 6 p.m., from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Admission is free, and spots are first-come, first-served. So be sure to get there a little early for the best view!
Hosted by the National Museum of Wildlife Art, Plein Air Fest, Etc. pits nearly 50 local artists against each other in a live outdoor competition to paint regional landscapes. This event is free for spectators and culminates in a silent auction where you can bid on your favorite pieces.
Ring in the summer season with live music, interactive booths, pond adventures, and free food and drink (while supplies last). The R Park Summer Solstice Celebration takes place Friday, June 20th, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Rendezvous Park.
While technically a year-round event, the Grand Teton Music Festival’s primary season takes place over the summer. This seven-week classical music extravaganza brings together over 200 musicians from America’s best orchestras and educational institutions for a series of unforgettable performances ranging from orchestral productions to classical-crossover shows, to intimate chamber-music concerts.
Located in the heart of Jackson Hole, the Center for the Arts boasts a robust calendar of musical performances every summer. This year’s lineup includes Rilo Kiley (May 19th), JJ Grey & Mofro (June 18th), Gillian Welch & David Rawlings (June 28th), Lyle Lovett and His Large Band (July 8th), Watchhouse (July 14th), and Keb’ Mo’ & Shawn Colvin (August 24th).

The Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival is Jackson Hole’s premier cultural event and the country’s number-one celebration of Western art. The festival features over 50 events over its ten-day run. Watch artists create masterpieces in real time, browse local galleries, shop for authentic Western wear, and more!
This monthly speaker series hosts diverse conservation professionals in a casual question-and-answer format. Held at the Roadhouse Brewing Company Tap Room, it’s the only Jackson Hole event where you can learn about local wildlife, conservation efforts, how you can get involved, and get a little tipsy in the process!
Held at the Teton County Fairgrounds, Trunk or Treat is a unique Halloween event combining tailgating and trick-or-treating. Participants decorate their trunks with Halloween accoutrements and hand out candy, offering a safe, convenient alternative to door-to-door trick-or-treating.

If you’re looking for a unique wildlife watching experience, look no further than National Elk Refuge Sleigh Rides. This horse-drawn sleigh ride takes you into the heart of the refuge in Grand Teton National Park, home to the country’s largest migrating elk herd. Hosted by Snow King Mountain Resort, the King Concerts Series offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see international touring bands performing at 8,000 feet.
