The charming city of Wimberley, TX, has fun concerts, unique venues, and date-worthy seasonal events. Join in on the festivities this year, and start with these three spectacular events.
November 13th, 2024, marks the annual Sip & Shop on the Square. On this day, over two dozen shops will line Wimberley Square for the largest annual holiday shopping event in Wimberley. So, if you want to do some eclectic Christmas shopping, this is a can’t-miss among Wimberley events. From 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, friends and family can browse the square and visit boutique storefronts, wine shops, fine art galleries, and more, many featuring giveaways and great deals. Then, head to the CreekHouse Kitchen & Bar at 8:00 pm for a relaxing after-party with live music and lovely al fresco dining.
Held on the first Saturday of every month, Market Days are one of the top Wimberley events, and for good reason. As the largest outdoor market in Texas Hill Country, Wimberley Market Days is a family-friendly (and dog-friendly) event featuring 490 booths on twenty acres of oak-covered land in Lions Field. Shop to your heart’s content with a diverse array of vendors, including local produce, arts and crafts, and antiques. This vibrant market also features live music and delicious fresh food for a toe-tapping, lip-smacking good time.
Who doesn’t love a glass of wine and good music? This Texas Hill Country winery is known for hosting multiple events a month. Enjoy live music on the main deck, or check out the Wimberley Valley Art Bazaar, featuring local artists and photography. What’s more, Wimberley Valley Winery also hosts seasonal events, like Christmas movie showings, such as Elf on November 29, 2024, the Wimberley Valley Christmas Bazaar on December 7, 2024, and the Holiday Dinner, featuring a luxurious 5-course dinner and wine pairing, on also on December 7, 2024. So, if wine tasting, delicious tapas, and fresh country air is your style, make sure to stop by.
These next two Wimberely events are hosted in the stunning Blue Hole Regional Park. This secluded oasis is famed for its crystal-clear, spring-fed swimming area and, specifically, its iconic Blue Hole. Who doesn’t love an evening spent beneath the stars? The Wimberley Dark Sky Committee hosts a Star Party every so often, which is a magical event in the heart of Blue Hole. You’ll quickly become mesmerized by the unpolluted night sky, accented by fascinating presentations and shared telescopes by the Committee and the Texas State Astronomy Club. So, pack chairs, a blanket, and a flashlight, and immerse yourself in an evening of stargazing. Another popular program is the Owl Prowl & Nocturnal Animal Hike. Trek across Blue Hole to search for owls and other nighttime creatures.
If you’re visiting over the New Year, consider signing up for the annual Polar Bear Plunge & 5k at Blue Hole Regional Park. This 5k welcomes both adults and children. Take your starting mark in the beautiful Blue Hole, then wind through downtown Wimberley and end your race with a chilling plunge into the frosty waters of Cypress Creek. So, make sure to bring a change of clothes. After your race, enjoy the festivities, including live music, food and drink vendors, fire pits, games and prizes, and much more. Registration opens on the first of November, but no ticket is required if you’re attending only for the cold plunge.
Next, the EmilyAnn Theatre & Garden is known for its theatre productions and twelve acres of flourishing gardens, as well as its many seasonal events that you and yours are sure to love. One of the most beloved Wimberley events is the annual Butterfly Festival at the EmilyAnn Theatre & Garden, held in April.
